The Muslim Soup Kitchen Project consists of the following major elements:
MSKP Committee
-Maintains close contact with the leaders to ensure smooth planning of soup kitchens
-Establishes and plans long-term goals for the MSKP
Public Relations Group
-Creates publicity literature (e.g. flyers, emails, pamphlets)
-Makes announcements and distributes literature (Friday prayer, schools, and other major events
-Works with recruiting groups
General Volunteer Recruiting Group
-Recruits volunteers from various diverse groups in Capital District (College age and above: MSAs, mosques, communities)
-Works closely with youth motivator and recruiting group
Youth Motivator/Recruiting Group
-Recruits high school aged volunteers
-Leader works with diverse group from most high schools in the area
-Works closely with the general volunteers recruiting group
Facility + Mapping Group
-Finds a facility location
-Contacts and confirms the Soup Kitchen location and date
-Mobile Soup Kitchen
-Plans for future soup kitchens
Buying/Distribution Group
-Complete necessary shopping for Soup Kitchens (e.g. groceries, meat, supplies)
-Assure that the food gets to the assigned cooks after shopping is completed
Operations Group
-Supervises all aspects of a specific soup kitchen (the day-of)
Cooking Group
-Prepares food for the event
-Stationary: lunch vs. breakfast
-Comes up with menu ideas
-Keeps contacts of cooks
Dawaa’ Group
-Comes up with New Creative Ideas for Dawaa’ at Soup Kitchen
-Purchases Dawaa’ material (Qur’an translations, pamphlets)
-Train others how to give Dawaa’
